Surah 2:62 Those who believe (in the Qur’an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians, any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
There are two verses in the Quran at Surah 2:62 quoted above and another at Surah 5:69 indicated that Christians will enter paradise but there is a difference being said on those Christians which is stated –
S5:72 They do blaspheme who say: “Allah is Christ the son of Mary.” But said Christ: “O Children of Israel! Worship, Allah my Lord and your Lord.” Whoever joins other gods with Allah, Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help” which take the meaning that they will go to hell.
If one looks at the two verses closely there is no conflict between Surah 2:62 and Surah 5:72 as the earlier verse at Surah 2:62 explained and indicated those Christians who believe in the truth of the Quran that they worshipped Allah alone and they believed in the revelation given to Prophet Muhammad as a Messenger of God and thus they will go to heaven but those who rejected Allah being the only One God will be in hell as stated –
Surah 5:82-86 Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, “We are Christians”: because among these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant. And when they listen to the revelation received by the Messenger (Muhammad), thou wilt see their eyes overflowing with tears, for they recognize the truth: they pray: “Our Lord! We believe; write us down among the witnesses. “What cause can we have not to believe in Allah and the truth which has come to us, seeing that we long for our Lord to admit us to the company of the righteous?” And for this their prayer hath Allah rewarded them with gardens, with rivers flowing underneath, their eternal home. Such is the recompense of those who do good deeds. But those who reject Faith and belie our Signs, they shall be companions of Hell-fire.
There is therefore no issue as Christian who believed Jesus Christ is a prophet of Allah and believe in the revelation to Prophet Muhammad will enter paradise but not those who believe Jesus is God or the Son of God!
