There is no command in the Qur’an to cover the heads or the faces.

Hijab is not decency, it is made mandatory by the Sharia laws from the man-made hadith books and from the Bible, not from the Qur’an.

In Sharia, covering the head is considered mandatory by the consensus of most classical and contemporary scholars but there is a difference of opinion on whether covering the face is compulsory. The requirement to cover is primarily in the presence of non-mahram men (men outside one’s immediate family with marriage is legally permissible).

However, there is no command from Allah in the Qur’an to cover the head of the face.

TO COVER THE HEAD IS THE TEACHING OF THE BIBLE –

1 Corinthians 11:5-6 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonours her head—it is the same as having her head shaved. For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.

THE ORIGIN OF COVERING THE HEADS AND FACES WERE MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE –

Genesis 24:65 For she had said unto the servant, what man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, it is my master. THEREFORE, SHE TOOK THE VAIL AND COVERED HERSELF.

Genesis 38:14-15 And she put her widow’s garments off from her, and covered her with a vail, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife. WHEN JUDAH SAW HER, HE THOUGHT HER TO BE A HARLOT; BECAUSE SHE HAD COVERED HER FACE.

THOSE WHO COVER THEIR HEADS ARE FOLLOWING THE GUIDANCE FROM THE BIBLE!

TEACHING OF THE QUR’AN HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE HADITH AND THE BIBLE ON COVERING THE HEADS AND FACES –

THIS VERSE IS THE DETERMINANT THE PARTS OF THE BODY THAT CAN BE EXPOSED IN PRIVATE AND IN PUBLIC –

S5:6 – O ye who believe! when ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces (وُجُوهَكُمْ) and your hands to the elbows; Rub your heads (بِرُءُوسِكُمْ) with water; and wash your feet to the ankles……

THE COMMAND –

S7:31 O Children of Adam! wear your beautiful dressing at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: But waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters.

S7:26 O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember.

The relevant verses in the Qur’an connected with dressing are Surahs An-Nur 24:31, Al-Ahzab 33:53 and 33:59

THE VERSE BELOW SAYS TO COVER THE BOSOM OR THE CHEST AND NOWHERE THE WORDS TO COVER THE HEAD OR FACE IS MENTIONED IN THE VERSE –

S24:31 And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear thereof; that they should draw THEIR VEIL OVER THEIR BOSOMS and not display their beauty except to their husbands…..

The verse below is not talking about covering the head or face. The verse says when people come to ask the prophet’s wives anything they must be others presence as a screen to observe or shelter and protect them –

S33:53 O ye who believe! Enter not the Prophet’s houses until leave is given you, for a meal, (and then) not (so early as) to wait for its preparation: but when ye are invited, enter; and when ye have taken your meal, disperse, without seeking familiar talk. Such behaviour annoys the Prophet: he is ashamed to dismiss you, but Allah is not ashamed to tell you the truth. And when ye ask his ladies for anything ye want, ASK THEM FROM BEFORE A SCREEN: that makes for greater purity for your hearts and for theirs. Nor is it right for you that ye should annoy Allah’s Messenger, or that ye should marry his widows after him at any time. Truly such a thing is in Allah’s sight an enormity.

This verse below is to cover their bodies not of covering the head or face –

S33:59 O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.

The traditional scholars misinterpreted the term “khimar” at S24:31 as head covering whereas headscarves or muffler or kerchief is to be used to cover the bosom or the chests where most women display their cleavages.
