In the Quran it was not Allah who commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son. Abraham had a dream that he sacrificed his son –
S37:102 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, “O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I sacrifice you, so see what you think.” He said, “O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast.”
In the Bible the Christian God give the command to Abraham to kill his own son Isaac –
Genesis 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
However, in the Quran, when Abraham was explaining the dream to his son, Satan took the opportunity to entice Abraham’s soul to manifest his dream to slaughter his son –
S22:52 And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke, Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But Allah abolishes that which Satan throws in; then Allah makes precise His verses. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.
Allah averted Abraham from Satan’s evil whisper to slaughter his son as he was a good man and Allah did not punish him for his delusion but penalized him to sacrifice an animal instead as a replacement consideration.
S37:106-108 Indeed, this was the clear trial. And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, And We left for him favorable mention among later generations.
So in the Quran there is no favourite or chosen son by God to be slaughtered as it was insignificant because it was from Abraham’s dream which Satan enticed him to manifest.
True God do not command mankind to slaughter their own sons to show their obedience even for trial as that of the Bible at Genesis 22:2 –
THE QURAN:
S6:140 Lost are those who slay their children, from folly, without knowledge, and forbid food which Allah hath provided for them, inventing lies against Allah. They have indeed gone astray and heeded no guidance.
S6:151 Say: “Come, I will rehearse what Allah hath prohibited you from”: Join not anything as equal with Him; be good to your parents; kill not your children on a plea of want; We provide sustenance for you and for them……
The Feast of sacrifice during pilgrimage in the Quran is not based on the slaughtering of Isaac as it is believed in the Bible but in the Qur’an it is of doing the duty of pilgrimage to sacrifice animals to feed the needies –
S22:27-28 And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass. That they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor.
S22:36 And the camels and cattle We have appointed for you as among the symbols of Allah; for you therein is good. So mention the name of Allah upon them when lined up [for sacrifice]; and when they are [lifeless] on their sides, then eat from them and feed the needy and the beggar. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may be grateful.
Nevertheless, the Quran did mentioned the names of the two sons of Abraham and they were both prophets of Allah and from their descendants Allah also choses to guide –
S19:54 And mention in the Book, Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and he was a messenger and a prophet.
S14:39 Praise to Allah, who has granted to me in old age Ishmael and Isaac. Indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of supplication.
S4:163 Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book of Psalms.
S6:86-87 And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot and all [of them] We preferred over the worlds. And among their fathers and their descendants and their brothers and We chose them and We guided them to a straight path.
BEWARE OF SATAN’S SNARE:
S43:62 And let not Satan divert you. He is an open enemy to you.
S31:33 O mankind, fear your Lord and fear a Day when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver.
